RACE GUIDE: TCS NYC Marathon Virtual 26.2M

The 2020 in-person TCS NYC Marathon scheduled for November 1st is canceled.
Registration for the virtual race opens July 28, 2020 at 12:00 PM EST.
Yes, they will be using the same queueing system so you might have to wait if they are experience heavy traffic on the site.
You must complete your virtual race with a Strava account. It’s free but if you want more features you can pay for the premium account.
Your virtual race must be completed between October 17th and November 1st of 2020.
That means you will have about 13 weeks of training. There are two ways you can train:
There are four “tiers” to register for this race (see below)
The guaranteed entries will be non-complimentary. That means you will receive a guaranteed spot to run a future marathon in 2021, 2022, or 2023 and you will have to pay the entry fee then.
There are limited spots for the Guaranteed Entry (1,000) and Fundraise for NYRR Team for Kids (200). Both are first come, first served.
There are unlimited spots for the Run For The Medal and Run For The Love of Running options.

*If you register for and complete the Run for Guaranteed Entry tier or the Run for NYRR Team for Kids tier, you will participate in a future marathon selection process in 2021 to choose the year for your non-complimentary entry (either 2021, 2022, or 2023). You may not be guaranteed your preferred year due to potential limitations to future field sizes.
